CASE STUDY - Directorate of School Education, Haryana

The first of its kind G2G web portal of Education Department Haryana in India.

    Directorate of School Education, Haryana is one of the premier department that looks after all matters concerning education. Major objectives of the department are:-
    • Universalisation of primary education for children in age group 6 to 14
    • Continuous education and literacy to all the people in the state
    • Forms policies on education, supervises implementation and issues orders in the form of guide lines and orders.
    • Improvement in the overall quality of education.
    Challenges
    To maintain an internationally recognized high quality education system is no small task. It requires establishing best practices, skilled manpower and use of ICT to achieve the objective of the department. Currently department faces the following challenges:-
    1. Manually check the eligibility criteria of the Guest Faculty defined in the service rules. This process leads to the recruitment of ineligible faculty which drastically decreases the quality of education.
    2. Offline processes like:-
      • Offline registration of the Guest Faculty
      • Medical reimbursementsm
      • NOC for obtaining passport
      • Transfers Management
      • Offline Attendance
      • Issue of work experience certificate
      • Issue of ID cards
      • Offline Leave processing
      • Offline Relieving & Appointing Guest Faculty
      • Request for permission to go Abroad etc
      • Offline File Processing
    Current process involves high turnaround time, redundancy and complexity in the system. In order to improve the quality of services, department requires an ICT enabled web based application.
